Chile Earthquake Update

On Saturday 27 February at 03:34 hours Chile suffered a seismic event of 8.8 on the Richter scale. The epicenter was approximately 50 kilometers offshore from Concepción, Chile’s second largest city. Subsequently there have been tsunamis that severely impacted the low lying coastal areas and numerous aftershocks. Major damage was experience with an estimate 2 million inhabits of the country in temporary shelter and over 700 reported deaths.
SN Power Chile Status
Santiago and Futrono (Maqueo Project) Offices:
All SN Power employees in Chile including direct contract employees and personnel working in Chile from other parts of the company have been accounted for and are safe. Two individuals with homes in Concepción remain at their houses due to the catastrophic situation there and one person suffered a broken ankle when evacuating a building during the earthquake. Both offices are back in full operation.
Tinguiririca Energía – Hidroeléctrica La Higuera (HLH) and La Confluencia (HLC):
No injuries to personnel at either HLH or HLC were reported, but both sites suffered relatively minor physical damage and demobilized the majority of their work forces due to the event. It is estimated both sites will be back to relatively normal operations within 7 to 10 days.
Totoral
All SN Power employees at site have been accounted for and are healthy and safe. The facility went off line as a result of the earthquake on Saturday. Since then the masts have been inspected and found to be intact, and the facility will be back on line any day.
SN Power, Pacific Hydro and Tinguiririca Energía have formed a committee to coordinate efforts to address community needs related to the crises.
