La Oroya

La Oroya HPP is the company’s oldest plant, which started operations in 1914. It is located at 3,694 masl in the district of La Oroya. La Oroya HPP is part of the hydraulic sub-system of Pachachaca. The waters used in the Pachachaca HPP are discharged into the Yauli river, and then taken again in the cut-off intake and conveyed through a 16 km-long channel up to Taza Oroya, and then to the powerhouse through a penstock of 1,335 m in length.
