SN Power contributes with a respond to the worlds intense need for renewable energy
SN Power recognises the extent of the role of renewable energy in responding to today`s major challenges of climate change, energy security and supply.
Significant player
Despite its relatively short history, SN Power has already become a significant player in the energy sectors in Peru, Chile and the Philippines. It is also the only foreign investor in the hydropower sector in India and the largest independent power producer in Nepal. In December 2009 the company also opened its first wind power plant in Chile, providing 46 MW of clean energy to the Chilean national grid.
Goals
SN Power`s goals are twofold:
To contribute to sustainable economic growth
To become a leader in the industry
The company aims to do this by investing on a commercial basis in selected emerging markets. All projects entered into should have minimal adverse impact on the environment and yield positive benefits for both local communities and society at large through the increased generation of renewable energy.
Hydropower
Energy generated from hydropower is an essential part of the solution to the climate change challenge.
Wind power
Wind power is one of the most environment-friendly sources of energy for large-scale electricity production.
