Erik Knive (48) comes from the position as CEO of Green Resources, one of Africa’s largest afforestation companies. Before his position in Green Resources he was 11 years with SN Power, first as Head of the activities in Asia, based in Singapore, and later as Chief Operating Officer for the whole SN Power Group.

“There were several candidates interested in the position. Erik Knive was chosen because of his experience in dealing with large projects both in Asia, Latin America and Africa. The Board is confident that Erik Knive will lead SN Power into a phase of further growth. Norfund, currently holding all shares in SN Power, aims to  strengthen its position within the renewable energy business in the two core regions of Africa and Asia,” Øystein Øyehaug, Chairman of the Board of SN Power, says.

“I look forward to return to SN Power. SN Power is a company with a lot of potential. There is not enough available energy in the world today. To reach the climate goals, renewable energy will be increasingly important in the energy mix. Hydropower can and will be used as battery for solar- and wind plants. Developing countries should also have access to reliable and clean energy,” Erik Knive says.

Erik Knive has studied business and finance at Harvard Business School and Univeristy of New Orleans. He started his working career in telecommunications globally and switched to the energy business in 2005.

Erik Knive will take up his new position July 1st.

After a long life as CEO and the eight last years as CEO of SN Power, Torger Lien has asked to step down and will take on a Senior Advisor role in Norfund.
